Over the weekend, D23 showcased an exciting range of new information, and Bleeding Cool had the opportunity to attend. Kaitlyn Booth was given a great chance to have a conversation with the Disney Lorcana team about their quickly expanding Trading Card Game. We had a discussion with Ryan Miller , a professional who specializes in creating brand identities. How has it been for you to witness the organic growth of Discord? It’s a unique experience to observe a fandom expanding in that manner and engaging with it in such a way.
Steve recalled the day when a Discord server was launched, and the notifications were coming in rapidly. He was amazed by how many people joined the server in a short period. There is a diverse group of individuals with various reasons for being there. Steve usually spends time in the Rules Channel assisting others, but he occasionally checks out the Community Channels too. He appreciates the strong community built around the game and enjoys engaging in conversations about different stories.
Ryan expressed his appreciation for the Disney Lorcana community in the game, highlighting the diverse range of players and collectors involved. He particularly praised the Content Creator community, emphasizing the variety of individuals within it. Ryan fondly recalled attending a Content Creator Meet-Up at GenCon with his wife and eight-month-old son, where they were warmly welcomed with applause.

While we can make efforts from our end, the community plays a significant role in shaping the atmosphere and mood. They excel in this aspect. This is why I enjoy participating in the challenges and events – it gives us the opportunity to interact with them, listen to their stories, and engage with them. I have a genuine appreciation for the community, it’s truly fantastic.”
