The Pokémon TCG market is dynamic and often unpredictable. Over the last couple of years, there has been a resurgence of interest in the hobby, driven by factors such as the 25th Anniversary, exceptional Sword & Shield-era sets with stunning Alternate Arts, influencer promotions, box breaks, and the COVID-19 lockdown encouraging people to explore new activities. For a period, sets and cards that were once easily accessible became scarce. As the frenzy subsides, it’s time to assess the current state of modern sets. Each month, I will present an installment of the series, Pokémon TCG Value Watch. This series aims to guide collectors in understanding the availability trajectory of cards, assisting Pokémon TCG completionists like myself in deciding the optimal time to make purchases. Today, we’ll examine the performance of cards from Pokémon TCG: Scarlet & Violet – Twilight Masquerade, released in May 2024, as they stand in September 2024.
Below are the highest-valued cards from Pokémon TCG: Scarlet & Violet – Twilight Masquerade, with market values reported on TCGPlayer at the time of writing:

This month, Greninja ex Special Illustration Rare experienced a $9 decline, yet it remains firmly in place as the top chase card of the Sword & Shield era. Although it may not reach the iconic status of the Umbreon VMAX Alt Art in this generation, it is certainly holding its ground in the months following its debut. Any card exceeding $200 is considered a powerhouse, and this one is nearing the $300 mark. Conversely, the Kieran Special Illustration Rare Trainer Supporter saw a $12 decrease this past month and is trending downward. I doubt it can maintain a value exceeding $20 in the long run.
